First of all, the Pet Shop.
Now, the only thin that may look new to you is the Gold O'Berry dispenser, and the fact that some of the items are gone because of it. However the Adopt A Puffle area has gotten a little facelift, some of the toys have been moved, and there are new toys scattered about, such as the half-pipe you can see near the bottom, as well as the cloud with the rainbow coming out of it, and the gold jackhammer. Next up, the Mine!
First of all, let me just say - I'm SO glad they didn't redo the caves. Even though new objects and such have been added, the mine walls and floors have been untouched. Anyway, the most obvious thing is that there are wood boards and stuff all over. Also, the Cart Surfer area has been updated, with a new minecart design, upgraded sign, and a little cart-riding penguin with a black puffle on top.
One thing that confuses me though is how all this happened. Where the Cave Mine's entrance used to be is an exit up to the Mine Shack, which is FINALLY added. In the Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force game for Nintendo DS, there was a mechanical lift in the Mine that took you up to the Mine Shack, but this is the first time we've ever been able to get up to the Mine Shack without using the map, spy phone, or whatever.
So, the Cave Mine is gone, right? Wrong.
Yeah, somehow the ENTIRE Cave Mine, Hidden Lake, and Underwater area managed to move from one end of the Mine to the other. It's very weird and I have no idea how this happened. It's clearly the old Cave Mine, since it connects to the Hidden Lake and several of the features in the old version of the room are still here, such as digging for coins, and the old coffee table.
Now, I understand them being able to move the Pet Shop over to make way for the Puffle Hotel, because that's a building. But how did they move an entire set of caves without disrupting anything? Okay, let's stop for a minute for a bit of a geographics lesson.
Based on the setting on Club Penguin's map, when you go in to the Mine, you're facing towards the Cave (or the Underground Pool), coming off the Cart Surfer tracks. To your right, the Cave Mine. We all know the Cave and the Boiler Room are under the Plaza and the Town, however there's an inexplicably long doorway that goes under the Snow Forts and past the Gift Shop... anyway, the Cave Mine would be under the path that leads to the Forest from the Mine Shack, like so. That easily places the Hidden Lake at the Forest, where another aboveground entrance is. That would put the Underwater Room either near the Cove, or at that lake overlooking the Town on the map. Trivia: This area is actually the Welcome Lake, which starting in June 2011, when penguins logged on for the first time they would see this room.
Now, we have a well-balanced theory here, besides the inexplicably long doorway. Oh well.
But when the room designs appear, the Mine, Cave, and Boiler Room are still balanced except for that inexplicably long doorway........grumble grumble
Since the Cave Mine is moved, it ends up in the wilderness of Club Penguin now. The Hidden Lake is inside of a mountain, and the Underwater Room just falls off the face of the earth or something. And then there's still the entrance at the Forest to the Hidden Lake, so is it like a two-way magic portal
ANYWAY, enough of my nerdy rambling. The last redesigned room is the Mine Shack. The shack itself has received some minor updates, and that's about it.
Next up, the Stage has a new play. To celebrate the Gold Puffle's discovery, Quest for the Golden Puffle is back! Unfortunately the traps haven't worked for a while, so standing on the gold puffle panels won't activate the snowballs or the boulder anymore...
Also, just an interesting thought I had - anyone remember Yukon's line, "These weren't the puffles we were looking for."?
Well, maybe we should listen to Yukon's pop culture references a lot closer from now on...
Anyway, the play is exactly the same as before. Well, almost. Where's the Keeper of the Stage? Hmm...
Also, PH is visiting for the discovery of the Gold Puffle, with a brand new background.
As for the more minor updates, puffles around the island have disappeared and there are missing posters in their places. As I previously mentioned, the Keeper of the Stage has vanished, along with the Keeper of the Boiler Room, the Black Puffle outside of Puffle Rescue, and Plok, the Orange Puffle from the Box Dimension. Herbert is definitely up to something here...
There's also a brand new pin, which can be found at the Lighthouse. It's called the Herbertech pin. Who knew Herbert had his own company!
Last but not least, there's a new image on the homepage for Operation: Puffle. Herbert appears to be mind-controlling the puffles, with a GOLD remote that suspiciously has the same glow that the Gold Puffle does, and agents trying to free them by taking the helmets off their heads. Dun dun dun... get ready agents!
Chill is out, peace!
