Rookie the Director

Hey guys! Chill here. Today, I have an interesting theory about Rookie, and that I think he will become the Director.

First of all, this was actually foreshadowed during the Future Party. When Gary 3000 was asked if Rookie was the Director in 4014, he replied with - "Oh that must come later That was a curious day! He almost blew up the Stage... but his pet rock saved the day"

However, most people would probably have overlooked this as something that happens in the super-duper-distant future, like in a few hundred years or so.

But today in the newspaper, Aunt Arctic got two questions asking whether she was the Director or not, and then left this message hidden for EPF agents:

The "Propeller Protocol" most likely refers to making Rookie the Director, as Gary 3000 himself hinted at. And why would it be in his scripts if it wouldn't be relevant? Hmm...

What do you think? Will Rookie become the Director sometime around the inevitable EPF operation coming soon? Or does it mean something else? Only time will tell!

2014 Events Review

Since I'm a little late on this, I'll be reviewing all of the events we've had so far this year in one post: Welcome Russia, Funny Hat Week, Penguin Prom, and Turbo Race 3000.

Welcome Russia

The decorations at Welcome Russia were pretty much what you would expect from a mini-party about, well, Russia. We got a nice item too, although it was one of those weird ones that looks good until you actually put it on your penguin and it looks ugly. So yeah, it was a decent event, but not the greatest. Score: 3/5
Now HERE'S what we wanted! The party's decorations were pretty cool, kind of similar to the classic parties where the rooms were actually decorated instead of "transformed". The items were all pretty cool, my favorite being The Donut Conquerer as it reminded me of an old friend. The music is a cool tune that's a nice throwback to the first ever Music Jam. It's kind of funny, because I considered Funny Hat Week better than all the parties before it that year! Score: 5/5

The Penguin Prom, while I wasn't looking forward to it at first really, turned out to be a pretty awesome event! Unlike most other events, three rooms were decorated for the event: the School,
Mine Shack, and Stadium. While the Stadium's decorations were very minor, the School and Mine Shack had really nice decorations. As far as items go, I found it really weird how you got a graduation cap, but no gown, and I know others did too. The background is nice too. The music in the School is awesome, being an instrumental medley of The Party Starts Now, Gotta Have A Wingman, Ghosts Just Wanna Dance, Cool in the Cold, and Anchors Aweigh. What's not to like? Score: 5/5

The Turbo Race 3000, while cool in theory, was kind of a flop. The actual "racing" was very flawed, as you couldn't race with other users and it only activated based on what you did, so it didn't make much of an actual race. The decorations felt kind of cramped, although it was nice to see the Stadium's old design again after the Penguin Cup. The items were pretty nice, although the helmet feels incomplete without the actual suit, so non-members kind of got a bad deal there. The song is pretty nice and sounds like something you might hear in a slower-paced racing video game. Score: 3/5

Music Jam 2014 Review

Hey guys! Chill here. Today I'll be reviewing the... Music Jam this year... oh brother.
First stop, the features. Or, lack thereof. SoundStudio aside, the only real features are watching the performances of Cadence and the Band, Violetta (WHY?!?!?!), Cole Plante, Sabrina, and Zendaya. The only performance I could sit through the whole way was Best Day Ever, and all the others bothered me, especially Violetta (again, WHY?!?!?!?). While Cole Plante's remix of Gotta Have A Wingman was pretty nice at first, Stompin' Bob's messed-up voice ruined the entire song. Meanwhile, it seems Sabrina's song (Can't Blame A Girl For Trying) was aimed purely at the female audience, while all the others were gender-neutral. Except Violetta's. I don't know what that one was about. In terms of mascots, as you'd expect Cadence and the Penguin Band are back. THANK YOU! It's been way too long since we've seen the Band.

Decorations are mostly where the party falls flat on its face. While previous Music Jams have been known for being island-wide celebrations, this one consists of two decorated rooms on the island and six party rooms. The Dock (pictured) is nice I suppose, but the Town is merely recycled from the Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam, meaning they couldn't even take time to create a new look for the Town. Aye aye aye... The party rooms are the Music Cruise, which, although the designs are decent, really don't stick out and aren't memorable like past Music Jams have been.

So, the Music Jam gets back up on its feet after the decorations mishap... and falls flat on its face again with items. There were VERY few items and not a single catalog, unlike previous parties. All but one of the items are presented in the "come back tomorrow to get this item!" format, which is really annoying. While some of them are decent like the Beat Dropper Hat, most of them are pretty garbage. Also, it seems like a lot of them are directed at girls only, such as the Urban Diva Outfit or Here Comes Treble. Also, CP thought it would be a good idea to put the Miner's Helmet as a free item for some reason, even though pretty much EVERY penguin has it and it's available all the time. While the special guest backgrounds are nice, nobody will really care about them. How many people do you honestly see wearing Rocky and Cece's background nowadays, or Brady and McKenzie's, or Kermit's? While they ARE rare, they won't really have much value. And for some reason, a lot of the signatures are cut off by the player card...

And lastly, the music. As we all know, music IS the biggest part of the MUSIC Jam, right? RIGHT?

...well, uh, no, apparently.

Besides the performances, there are only four songs at this party, each used in only one room, and the rest are all ambience. That's right folks, at the MUSIC Jam, only HALF of the rooms actually have MUSIC! The few tracks that are actually used are pretty decent at least. As for the performances themselves, I already went over them in the features section, so I won't talk about them here.

And you know your party is bad when the best thing is non-member friendliness. Non-members can watch all the performances and get almost every item at the party, with a few exceptions. (Although most of the items they can't get are terrible imo)

All in all, the Music Jam was a terrible departure from a once beloved party. Even the Ultimate Jam was way better! At this point, do we really want to have CP attempt another Music Jam?

Score: 1/5

My Thoughts on the Sasquatch

Hey guys! Chill here. Most of you probably already know about the brand new mascot, appropriately named by fans the Sasquatch.

I REALLY like this guy a lot. He's just so mysterious. Nothing has been heard of it, and then suddenly it pops up in the files and a few days later it's a mascot, merely named ??????. I'm very excited to see what Club Penguin will do with this character in the future, it seems very promising.

Aunt Arctic, you've got a big article to write!

Is the Music Jam Ruined For Good?

Hey guys! Chill here. Today I have a sort-of-kind-of rant for you guys, for the first time in forever a while.

The Music Jam has been one of my favorite parties on Club Penguin since I experienced it for the first time in 2009. I looked forward to it every year, until it was seemingly "replaced" by the Ultimate Jam in 2012, technically being a Shake It Up takeover. This was pretty bad, as it combined the classic Music Jam with a bunch of new stuff, creating a giant mess.

The next year, we got the Summer Jam, another "takeover" for Teen Beach Movie. It was pretty good, and I considered it one of the two best parties that year (although to be fair the parties that year weren't really good in the first place). I assumed the Music Jam was gone for good...

But then, this year, the REAL Music Jam was announced to finally be returning! And... we got special guests.

Oh gosh.

But hey, how bad could it POSSIBLY have been? VERY, VERY BAD. The party itself was complete garbage (I won't go into detail here, stick around for my Music Jam 2014 review in a little while), and all the guests just felt so... out of place. Sabrina singing about girls having relationships? Violetta singing about... uh... something not in English?

Honestly it just feels like it's IMPOSSIBLE for CP to do a Music Jam anymore without feeling the need to get Disney Channel involved. The Music Jam was fantastic before, why did they have to change it? I don't mean to sound like a whiny kid who hates change, but they could've just kept going with the regular Music Jam and everything would've been fine; at least we probably wouldn't have the abomination that was this year's Music Jam.

Penguin Cup Review

Hey guys! Chill here. Today I'll be reviewing the Penguin Cup. (oops i'm late) I'm going to be reviewing it a little bit differently, but not much.

The Shootouts get old and repetitive, and they do so very, VERY fast. The only reason I did hundreds of them, was to get all the items on my penguin. The only thing to mix it up was the power shoes - which were honestly nothing but cheap. If you don't wear the shoes, you have pretty much no chance to beat someone who does wear the shoes, especially the final ones.

Playing Soccer at the Stadium *cough*Soccer Pitch*cough* was way more fun though, oddly. I liked how it actually kept score and you knew which goal was which. I don't like how it completely randomizes the teams that you're playing on for that though, but whatever. It brings a lot more life to the game either way.

Also, who EVER doubted the Sharks were going to win? Just like the Scare Games, the Sharks crushed all the other teams by a landslide. What's the point of these events if everyone flocks to one main team? There's no real competition here at all!

The decorations were, nyeeh...... they weren't bad by any means, I actually thought they were pretty great - but what's with all the cement and grass? I thought this was the Penguin Cup. It kinda bugs me how CP keeps putting cement in at parties - when there's barely even any cars to begin with! The decorations are still pretty awesome, but that really bothers me. Oh and the Ski Village area is forgotten. Again.

The items are pretty decent. While there are a few oddballs like The Fan Fro or the Unbeatable Keeper Costume, for the most part they're all pretty nice. I was on Team Hot Sauce during the party, and my favorite item was probably the Fire Power Shoes, because they matched my outfit pretty well.

The music selection was pretty decent, and they were all pretty good. The only one I didn't like that much was the weird fan cheers at the Stadium, they just didn't feel right.

As far as non-member friendliness goes, this party does pretty well. All penguins can get the vuvuzelas, Penguin Cup Ball, and the actual Penguin Cup. As for the items earned by the Shootouts, for every item that members can get, non-members can get one too. However, they can't get any power shoes, which puts them at a SERIOUS disadvantage in the Shootouts as I mentioned before.

The Penguin Cup is, without a doubt, the best party of the year so far. While it's not that great, it definitely beats all the other parties this year.

Score: 4/5

What did you think of the Penguin Cup? Also, did you like how I'm doing the reviews now? Leave a comment!

Best Day Ever Review

Hey guys! Chill here. Cadence recently made a new song, called Best Day Ever. So, like I did with Party In My Iggy, I decided I'd review it.

First of all, I'm glad Cadence is doing this one on her own. Club Penguin has really exhausted the concept of Cadence and the Penguin Band guest starring on each other's songs - it really gets old and I'd like to see them making songs by themselves again.

I really liked the song, it had a nice upbeat feel and all that good stuff. However, as much as I liked it, it doesn't really have that CP feel that songs like The Party Starts Now, Anchors Aweigh, Ghosts Just Wanna Dance, Cool in the Cold, Gotta Have A Wingman, and Party In My Iggy have. It just feels like a generic song that you'd hear on the radio.

Despite that minor flaw, I still really like this song. It's better than some of CP's newer songs, like Party In My Iggy.

The Club Penguin Party Creator!

Hey guys! Chill here. My friend Sharkbate recently made this really cool "game" called the Club Penguin Party Creator, where you can create your OWN Club Penguin parties! Check it out at this link right now! (unfortunately, the Party Creator has been shut down, and the link no longer works)

The Party Creator is still in the beta stages, so if your favorite room or party isn't in it yet, don't worry, it'll probably end up in it sometime soon. And, eventually there will be a feature where you can decorate versions of the rooms from earlier years!

The Party Creator is fun to use and there's a lot of creative stuff you could do with it. Check out this Music Jam Cove my friend Mario Rk made!
Sharkbate is definitely a genius when it comes to these things. Check it out, and tell all your friends who play Club Penguin to check it out too!

Future Party Review

Hey guys! Chill here. Today I'll be reviewing Club Penguin's latest party, the Future Party - and I'm on time for once! Write that down.
Features
The robos are pretty cool, and their "snowball" animations (which unfortunately, only work in space) are pretty cool. Unfortunately, we can't destroy other robos like at the Marvel Superhero Takeover, which was pretty fun. Speaking of robos, the space "game" is lame. All you do is throw snowballs at meteors and microbots (who look like the Test Bots, which I think is pretty cool). And they don't even do anything! If you get hit by an asteroid, nothing happens. If a microbot blasts you, nothing happens. And if you don't destroy them and they reach the island, guess what? NOTHING HAPPENS. The game feels urgent, but there's really no urgency. There's no penalty if you get hit, or if you don't get hit by an asteroid. And guess what? The final battle, which has once again been hyped, is terrible as well. Protobot does NOTHING. The only attack that can do anything to you is his missiles, but that only has an aesthetic effect. The fights in space are insanely boring and they could've been made a lot better by, oh, I don't know, actually having effects when you mess up?
As for mascots, you can meet Gary with a new background. Well, not exactly. It's Gary 3000, Gary 2000 years in the future. I like Gary a lot, but isn't he overused by now? We still have half a year of parties left to go and Gary already visited twice. He IS my favorite mascot and all, but good gravy.
Score: 3/5
Decorations
The decorations are pretty cool - well, what there is, exactly. Apparently in the future, the Plaza, Forest, Cove, Mine Shack, Dojo Courtyard, Ski Village, Stadium, and Ski Hill all got EXPLODED BY PROTOBOT MWAAHAHAHA destroyed. Either that or they disappeared for no reason. Either way works.
Anyway, to the actual decorations. The designs are all pretty cool and future-y and stuff... yeah. That's really all I have to say.
Score: 4/5
Items
Club Penguin did a great job with the items at this party, I really can't complain.
Okay I lied, I can complain. The alien items are just... I dunno. They just don't feel right. *shudder* Also, the Asteroid Head has the stupid add-on beak that I hate so much. But other than that, everything is great. I do wonder one thing though - why in the world is the Cybernetic Arm a body item?
Score: 4/5
Music
The music at this party is really good. All the tracks are brand new, and Club Penguin did a great job. The robotic singer in the background bothers me though...  my favorite song is definitely Strange Galaxy. I can't get enough of it!
Score: 4/5
Non-Member Friendliness
Looks like Club Penguin gave more features to non-members in 2000 years. Non-members can get half of the items from the party catalog, visit all the rooms, and collect three of the four non-catalog items. Unfortunately, they can't use the robos.
Score: 4/5
Final Score
While the Future Party isn't the greatest party, it's certainly not the worst. While the decorations, items, and music are great, the lack of rooms in the future and the bland nature of the "game" make it seem to fall flat.
Final Score: 4/5

What did you think of the Future Party? Would you like to see it back next year?

Top 10 Parties That Should Return

Hey guys! Chill here. A while ago, I did a post called Top 10 Items That Should Return. Today, it's time for another Top 10 list! This time parties that should return. This is for every party, that either didn't happen in 2013 (or earlier), or has been confirmed to not be returning this year.
10. Wilderness Expedition
The Wilderness Expedition was pretty cool - we got a new puffle, and the wilderness rooms were fun too. I always loved pretending to go camping in the wilderness with my friends in the wilderness, which I couldn't really do at the Forest because of how open it was (and still is). While not necessarily another wilderness expedition, it would be awesome if Club Penguin brought these rooms back for good. Why not? They did it with the Cave Expedition.
9. Winter Fiesta
The Winter Fiesta was one of my first parties, and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I was only able to go to one of these before Club Penguin gave it the axe. The only real issue I could see with this party coming back is the Mexican/Spanish stereotypes, which could be why it got taken away in 2009, when CP started becoming more politically correct.
8. Penguin Play Awards
The Penguin Play Awards was promised to be annual - but only happened two years in a row. I liked the Penguin Play Awards a lot, it had great music, and during the second year, there were cool decorations all over the island. And it had quite a few mascots, which was pretty cool as well. And, only six of the nineteen plays ever got a chance to win awards. Polo Field said they don't make any new plays because not many penguins use the Stage anymore (*ahem* there's a REASON for that, Polo) - but another Penguin Play Awards could boost attendance to the Stage, and maybe motivate CP to add more plays.
7. Camp Penguin
Camp Penguin looked like it was a really interesting concept, and the music was great too. So why didn't it come back? Who knows. This would be really interesting to see again, and who knows what CP would do with it now.

6. Marvel Superhero Takeover
The Marvel Superhero Takeover in 2013 was one of my two most favorite parties of that year, tied with the Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam. Unfortunately, it's already been confirmed that it won't be returning this year. If it never comes back, hopefully we'll see just a regular Superhero Party. I wanna use those gloves and robots again!
 5. St. Patrick's Day Party
I know Club Penguin isn't really too keen on celebrating real world holidays anymore, considering Halloween and Christmas are the only survivors, but you gotta love the St. Patrick's Day Parties. Unfortunately, like the Winter Fiesta, I only got to experience one before it got the axe. I know a lot of penguins would love to see this party back.
 4. April Fools' Day Party
The April Fools' Day Party was a pretty cool party, one of Club Penguin's first. It has been around since 2006, but after a failure in 2012 caused by laziness on CP's part, it got the axe in 2013. Although if this comes back, I think CP needs to take the focus off the dimensions. While it was cool the first year the dimensions came out, there's really nothing "April Fools'" about it. If they bring it back, I hope it's based more on the version from 2008 or 2009. And it really bugs me how they used it in the Spoiler Alert when it never actually happened.
 3. Adventure Party
The Adventure Party was always one of my favorite parties. Not the newer ones, I'm talking about the first one from 2009. I loved everything this party had to offer (especially the music), and I hope they bring it back more like how it was during the original run.
2. Summer Party/Water Party
Who doesn't love Summer? The Summer Parties and Water Parties always looked like a lot of fun, but CP stopped doing them in 2008. The Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam was a success in my books, but hopefully we'll see another true Club Penguin Summer Party this year.
 1. Festival of Flight
Finally, the party I'd like to see return the most, the Festival of Flight. The Festival of Flight was one of my earliest experiences on Club Penguin, and it had my favorite mascot - Gary. The music was great, the rooms were great, there really was nothing bad about this party. I'd love to see it back sometime.

What did you think of this list? Are there any parties you would've added to this list? Removed? Drop a comment below!

Club Penguin in Disney Infinity?

Hey guys! Chill here. A few months ago, I talked about what they could do with Club Penguin if it was put into Disney Infinity. Well now, it looks like we have some evidence.

Today, Club Penguin released their 200th YouTube video, Puffles Around The World! - A Club Penguin Music Video, where the staff of Club Penguin dances and does other stuff in real life with puffles alongside them. Starting at around the 0:23 mark, you can see the outside of what I believe is the Disney Interactive Headquarters (I did research but couldn't find exactly where they were), which you can tell because of the larger-than-life Mr. Incredible and Sulley figures.
Spike Hike himself has said numerous times that he would like to see Club Penguin in the game, and numerous fans want it as well. Disney Infinity 2.0 promises a large cast of characters, such as the Avengers, Merida, Maleficent, and Stitch, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the game.

What do you think? Does this count as evidence toward CP in Disney Infinity, or is it just pure coincidence?

Future Party Analysis

Hey guys! Chill here, back with another analysis. It's been quite some time since I've done one of these! Anyway, let's analyze.

First, we got a sneak peek of some concept art of robots! As there are clearly penguins in the cockpits, it looks like we'll be piloting them, instead of controlling them like at the Marvel Superhero Takeover. I think these designs look pretty dang awesome. Later, we saw some full artwork of them on the membership page.
There will also be a minigame where we have to pilot these robots and shoot at asteroids to keep them from falling to the island, kind of similar to the game Icebergs from beta team. Although there are still a lot of possibilities for this game. Is it multiplayer? Is it singleplayer with the AI controlling the other robots? Or do you control all of the robots at once? I guess we'll find out in a few weeks what this game has to offer for us.
From login/exit screens, EPF messages, and the like, we know that this will be a EPF mission involving the Ultimate Protobot. What does that big bucket of bolts have in store for us agents now?
Also, Gary mentions that he built something called the Gary 3000 - will we encounter the Gadget Guy's robotic self at this party? Who knows! I certainly hope so.

This party looks pretty cool, and I can't wait to see what happens.

Chill is out, peace!

Puffle Party 2014 Review

Hey guys! Chill here. Today I'm going to review the Puffle Party 2014. The Puffle Party, since its introduction in 2009, has been a beloved party, but 2013's wasn't the greatest. Can 2014's companion celebration do better?
Features
As always, we can transform into puffles. The feature is kept somewhat fresh, with the addition of Gold, Dino, Dog, and Cat puffles. SPEAKING OF Dog and Cat Puffles... they really aren't the greatest. Like Dino Puffles, they really can't do much. However, Dino Puffles were still cool because of the fact that they were rare and collectable. Dog and Cat Puffles changed that by becoming PERMANENT puffles in the Pet Shop that you have to pay for. It's not really worth it at all, and I think they should've been kept free. When the Brown Puffle first came out, it was free, and it was WAY better than these puffles. As usual, PH is also waddling around - unfortunately without a new background. The Puffle Park (basically this year's Puffle Hotel) also opened, which is kind of cool actually. Also, just like the "grand finale" at the Muppets World Tour, the Puffle Gala is nothing but garbage. All you do is have your puffles perform tricks - and you don't even get any prizes! Why was this even kept until the end of the party? They should've released it right away (or not use it at all). The Puffle Tricks, like Puffle Digging, are cool for a few minutes, but then just get boring.
Score: 3/5
Decorations
The decorations are a fresh new update from previous years, with the removal of the themed rooms. Personally, I miss them, but hey, what are you gonna do. Unfortunately, this leaves several rooms, like the Night Club, Dance Lounge, Iceberg, Mine, and Underground Pool undecorated. The Pet Shop also isn't decorated for whatever reason. The other decorations are a combination of new and old, with some brand new designs like the Snow Forts, Forest, Cove, and... FINALLY the Coffee Shop. All the designs are pretty awesome, even with the removal of several key decorated rooms.
Score: 4/5
Items
I really have nothing to complain about with the items. While some of them aren't the greatest in the world, none of the items at this party are really junk. It's a shame the hoodies don't look as good in-game as they do on the player card... It was also nice that they threw in the Purple Bunny Ears now that the Easter Egg Hunt is absent.
Score: 4/5
Music
As always, the Puffle Party music never fails to impress me. The old tracks we all love are still here, along with a few from other parties. The new songs are fantastic as well. Keep it up, CP!
Score: 5/5
Non-Member Friendliness
Non-members can visit every room at this party, and get over half of the items.  Of course, they can't adopt the new puffles, but who would've expected otherwise?
Score: 4/5
Final Score
While the features could be improved on, the decorations, items, and music are all amazing. While it's not as great as it could be, it's definitely a step in the right direction.
Final Score: 4/5

What did you guys think of the Puffle Party this year?

Muppets World Tour Review

Hi-ho! Chill here.

Okay I won't do that.

Hey guys! Chill here. Today I'll be reviewing the first takeover of 2014, the Muppets World Tour! The party received pretty mixed reactions from users - some welcoming the party, and others hating it, some even vowing not to log on during the party. But how did it turn out? Which side's expectations were right (at least in my opinion)? Let's find out!
Features
The features at this party are actually pretty simple. Everyday, you log on, go to a room, do a dance with another penguin, and get a prize. These "mini-quests" are REALLY boring though, and I think they could've done something a little bit better with them. And then, the big show, which the entire party was leading up to - was trash. All that happens is the Muppets show up and do a dance with three frames of animation. Talk about boring. There's also the little Gift Shop event with Constantine. The only feature at this party I liked was meeting Kermit the Frog. At first I wasn't too excited about it, but it was fun getting to hang out and talk to him in English servers.
Score: 3/5
Decorations
The decorations are... well, meh at best. None of the designs really appeal to me all that much. The Cove is pretty cool though. However, the Plaza is TERRIBLE. It's supposed to resemble the United States, but I don't see how it does that at all. And what's up with the Pet Shop? It's the USA, not Japan! There's really not much good to say here.
Score: 3/5
Items
Items... ehhh... they aren't really the greatest. The Muppets costumes just don't feel right, especially when a lot of them are combined with Club Penguin's style. Seriously, Miss Piggy with a beak? The hats from the mini-quests aren't much to speak of either. The quest items are mostly just okay, except for a few, like the Cream Pie and the Beakers. The backgrounds really aren't anything special either.
Score: 3/5
Music
If anything could save this party, it's the music, right? Nope. Most of the songs are either just okay, or horrible. Like the Plaza. And the Town. The only song at this party I actually like is the Cove.
Score: 2/5
Non-Member Friendliness
Non-members can visit all the rooms at this party, get all the backgrounds, and they can do the tasks and earn the hats from them. However, they can't get the actual items to do the tasks, and will need to find another member to do them with. They can't buy from the Muppets Catalog either, which, in my opinion, isn't that big of a loss anyway.
Score: 3/5
Final Thoughts
I was never excited about this party from the start - but I didn't think it would be that bad. While I would like to see Kermit again, I don't think it's worth another one of these monstrosities.
Final Score: 3/5

What did you guys think of the Muppets World Tour? Should they have another tour, or just leave the island forever?

Chill is out, peace!
