#WaddleOn Review: July 2013

Hey guys! Chill here. Since I've never really seen this done before, and I have some strong opinions about this particular topic, I'll be doing monthly reviews of Club Penguin's new comedy show on YouTube, #WaddleOn. At the beginning of each month, I will review the previous month's episodes. In this post, I'll be reviewing July's episodes, which covers episodes 1, 2, and 3.
#WaddleOn: Episode 1
It starts off with a skit about a penguin who has a floor made of butter, and the other penguin is allergic to butter and sneezes all over. Honestly, this skit is weird, unfunny, and gross.

The second skit features a miner talking about an "amazing discovery" in the Mine. This discovery turns out to be a pookie, and the other penguin is her mwa mwa. CLUB PENGUIN KNOWS ABOUT POOKIES WE'RE ALL DOOMED The skit isn't really funny to me though.

Then there's construction workers drinking coffee, and another penguin says they've had enough. This skit is just... boring. How is this funny?

The next skit has a penguin in a christmas tree costume running from penguins with ornament costumes. This one is still sort of boring, but it's the first one I actually found funny.

Afterwards, a penguin in a crab costume says the lights are too bright in the Clothes Shop, and the manager tells him to stop being crabby. It's a good pun, but I don't find this skit funny.

The final skit is a skit about a penguin starting to tell a joke, and gets interrupted by someone else. This skit is the worst of them all I think.

Conclusion: The first episode didn't set the tone for the rest of the series well. It was boring, and only had one remotely good skit, with the ornaments. Everything else was absolute junk.
#WaddleOn: Episode 2
The first skit was the one that started the whole "Earthlings and Pie" joke. This one was actually okay, but I still didn't find it funny.
The second skit was a reversal of the fourth skit from last episode - the ornament was now being chased by christmas trees. This one was also sort of funny.

The next skit has a penguin cart surfing with his black puffle, instructing him on how to turn. Eventually the penguin crashes, and the puffle says "Next time I'm driving". This skit was actually pretty funny!

The fourth skit has a penguin in a pizza costume in the Pizza Parlor, asking a diner what she wants to eat. The diner replies "a big slice of pizza" and the penguin freaks out. I liked this one too.

Next up, a penguin is dancing in the Night Club and his color changes to the dance floor... boring.

The final skit of this episode features two penguins in an igloo. One penguin tells the other penguin they have to stop feeding their puffle so much, and the other penguin asks "What's gonna happen?". The puffle suddenly turns into a puffle pillow, implying that it got fat. This is weird and boring.

Conclusion: This episode was a little better than the first. Some of them weren't very good, but others, like the ornaments and cart surfer, were pretty good.
#WaddleOn: Episode 3
The last episode of this review starts off with penguins drilling on the Iceberg. They give up and say it won't tip and leave, except for one. The Iceberg then tips. This sketch isn't really funny...

The second skit shows two penguins in red puffle costumes admiring a red puffle. Eventually the puffle barfs and they continue admiring it. This sketch is gross and weird.

Next up, a penguin is smashing fruit in Smoothie Smash with his... err... bottom, and the customer says "No way I'm drinking this". Yet another gross sketch.

The next skit has a penguin in the Book Room, seeing a penguin in the wanted poster. He asks why he's on the poster, and the penguin replies "I dunno, just wanted". If this is supposed to be a pun... not a very good one.

The final skit is a "sequel", if you will, of the original Earthlings and Pie joke from last episode. A penguin walks in and asks what's on the menu - the alien says that he is, and then the penguin reveals he's an alien too, and they laugh evilly. The alien then requests pie. This is still boring and weird.

Conclusion: Unlike episode 2, which had a few funny parts, episode 3 was abysmal. All the skits were boring, gross, or both.

So, here's the episodes in my opinion from best to worst: Episode 2, Episode 1, and Episode 3.

What do August's episodes hold? Find out in September! Until then, see ya!

Medieval Party 2013 Analysis

Hey guys! Chill here. In a couple weeks, once again the annual Medieval Party will be upon us. Despite the low amount of sneak peeks we've received, I'll be analyzing them and talking about what features we'll see this time around. Here we go!

First of all, a promotional video for the Teen Beach Movie showed us a surfboard for a few seconds with a dragon on it. This doesn't look like any of the dragons we've seen so far in previous years, and it also doesn't appear to have arms, so it's probably not foreshadowing a costume either. I think this means we'll see a brand new dragon, possibly even hinting at a new Ye Knight's Quest.
Later, Polo Field officially announced it on the What's New Blog, giving us some sneak peek photos. Personally I think the first one is some sort of Puffle (it kind of looks like a Shadow Ninja as well), the second is an eye, and the third is a gumdrop or a magic potion.
Also, Polo Field announced Rockhopper was coming this month, and today he was spotted in the telescope. But what does Rockhopper have to do with the Medieval Party? NOTHING. For some of you long time players, you may remember in 2009 and earlier, Rockhopper didn't always visit for parties - sometimes he would just come randomly, or during construction, like for the Adventure Party 2009. I think this may be the case again, and considering this is his first visit for the ENTIRE YEAR, hopefully we'll be seeing more of the friendly pirate as time passes!
So that's my thoughts on this fan-favorite. What do you guys think?

Also, I have a bunch of new posts planned, including reviews of the Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam, #WaddleOn episodes 1 through 7, and Club Penguin's new song, Party In My Iggy, and my friend Mario Rk will be doing a guest review on the latest version of the My Penguin app.

See ya!

Star Wars Takeover 2013 Review

Hey guys! Chill here again. So, I just reviewed the Monsters University Takeover but now I'm gonna review the Star Wars Takeover! Here we go!
Features
Features? Ehrm...
Well, first of all there was the lightsaber dueling mini-quest, but dueling is sort of boring and they don't even tell you how to play it! It really confuses me, I think it's entirely luck-based, but I'm not sure...
Every week, a new set of rooms is unlocked. Tatooine, Death Star, and Yavin 4. However, to me, all of these are very boring (the Death Star is somewhat cool). Tatooine is also hard to navigate for me the first time around.
With those rooms come new games. For Tatooine, there's a long and dull minigame where you shoot Stormtroopers. This game bores me beyond belief. It takes FOREVER just to beat ONE of three levels. No thanks, CP.
For the Death Star, you get a reskinned version of the block-moving game from Operation: Blackout and Beta Team. Woohoo.
And on Yavin 4, you get a fast-paced game where you fly an X-Wing to the Death Star to destroy it. This is the only game that's fun. Unfortunately, that is ruined by the extreme difficulty level. However, if you know how to play well, it becomes extremely easy. And neither of those make a good game.
Also, Darth Herbert was a mascot at the party. However, he was only a mascot for the second week, and was absent the first and third week! What for? That gives people almost NO time to find him.
Score: 2/5
Decorations
The decorations for the party are good, buuuut... besides the Dock, this party is COMPLETELY composed of party rooms, which makes me kind of angry. I was hoping we could have a cool outer space sky on the island (why not?) and maybe some more futuristic buildings. But NOOOPE.
Score: 2/5
Items
The items are actually pretty nice. There's a bunch of cool Star Wars clothes, and an R2-D2 Puffle Hat. FINALLY a new Puffle Hat! I've been waiting a while for one of those.
I also like the lightsabers. I dunno why, but they're really cool to me.
Unfortunately the only things in the catalog dress you up as licensed characters, and some of them, like Jawa, have the weird extended beaks from the MU Takeover, which I do not like one bit.
Score: 4/5
Music
I LOVED the music at this party. It was all spectacular. However, none of it was original Club Penguin music (except for some background sounds in the party rooms), but it was still good nonetheless.
Score: 5/5
Final Thoughts
Honestly, Club Penguin put WAY too much work into the advertisements and not enough work into the party itself. All the rooms are pretty much ported from Star Wars and basically nothing is original from Club Penguin. This party really underwhelmed me.
Final Score: 3/5

Monsters University Takeover 2013 Review

Hey guys! Chill here yet again. Did you miss me? :D Anyway, today I'll be doing a long overdue review of Club Penguin's Monsters University Takeover from June. And soon, I'll also be doing a review of the Star Wars Takeover.

Also, starting today, I'll be making a much more organized rating system. I hope you guys like it!

Features
Like the Marvel Superhero Takeover before it, this party had its own limited time game, the Scare Game. It was boring at first, but once I played it a lot it got really fun. I wish they would've done more than one game though, like in the movie. THAT would've been epic.
The scaring thing was fun too, I had a blast with one of my friends chasing dudes around to scare up some JOX points.
Also, for the first time since The Great Snow Race in 2011 (or, if you want to get technical, the 7th Anniversary Party in 2012) there is no mascot, which was a little disappointing. I think maybe meeting Mike and Sulley would've been cool, but at the same time it was nice that trackers finally got a break.
Score: 4/5
Decorations
I think CP did a nice job on decorating at this party. Even though not many regular rooms were decorated, I really liked the ones that were, like the Pizza Parlor. They also did a great job on the fraternity and sorority houses. (GO JOX) I just wish they would've decorated the island itself more, but hey, what could they of done, honestly?
Score: 4/5
Items
Unfortunately, items is one of the areas in which this party fails to excel in.
The fraternity and sorority caps were very... meh. They were nice, but it wasn't anything new, unique, and innovative they could've done.
Obviously, there's lots of MU character costumes. I just don't really like them. They all look really weird on your penguin. :/
Also, the monster items for non-members are extremely ugly and weird, except the dragon wings. You also can't scare with them - why? That makes no sense at all to me.
However, the Scare Games trophy was nice though.
Score: 2/5
Music
I LOVED the music! The university theme was okay, but the OK, ROR, PNK, and JOX songs were really cool. Also the monster remix of The Party Starts Now at the Pizza Parlor was cool.
Score: 5/5
Final Thoughts
The party was actually pretty good. However it would've been nice to see a mascot or two, some better items, and more decorations. Also, the Scare Games were obviously rigged in OK's favor. You can see my last post for more info on that.
Final Score: 4/5
So, now that you've heard my thoughts... What did YOU think about the Monsters University Takeover? Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments below as always.

Until next time, waddle on!
