The Fair 2014 Review

Hey guys! Chill here. The Fair (or the Fall Fair for some of you older users) has always been a favorite party, but it seemed like it was gone for good in 2013 when the Medieval Party took its place. It returned in February 2014 - but how was the revival of this classic party?
Features
As always, the old Fair carnival games are back. However, I am VERY disappointed in Club Penguin. They said that there would be brand new games this year. Unless you count rooms where you walk around to a certain spot and earn 10 tickets as a game, there were no new games this year. They added rides this year, where you could earn 10 tickets by hitting a target of some sort. Some, like the Space Squid and the Wagon Wheel, were completely pointless, but I still had fun using them. However, I think you should've earned 50 or 100 tickets when you hit a target on the rides, considering the high prices of the items this year. There was no reason to go on the rides to earn tickets when you could play a game like Puffle Paddle and earn way more tickets way faster.
Also, the Penguin Band is here. NOPE! Just kidding! For some reason Club Penguin thought it would be a cool idea to just have the Penguin Band perform, but not waddle around, even though Penguin Band hasn't even had any mascot appearances since the unofficial My Penguin Launch Party in May 2013! If you only count official appearances, then it was the Make Your Mark: Ultimate Jam in July 2012. And even then, they only made RARE appearances. Instead we got Rookie...
And the Daily Spinner was TERRIBLE. If it was just coins and tickets I wouldn't mind, but Club Penguin had the stupidity to put TWO PINS AND A BACKGROUND ON IT! That's terrible for people who try to collect every item like me, because whether or not you got those items was based entirely on luck. Thankfully, both of my accounts combined got all the items, but the fact that I missed one on both accounts should be a red flag.
Score: 2/5
Decorations
Like the Prehistoric Party, this year's Fair is unfortunately comprised of only party rooms. WHY? Club Penguin had something great going with the original fair, and they decided to cram it into just four party rooms, and the six "rides". These decorations are alright, but, why did they do it?
Also, they added an evening sky to the party. It looks nice, but why do we need it? The Fair was fine without it before.
Overall these decorations make me feel like I'm at some small carnival, not at a huge fair.
Score: 3/5
Items
As with any fair, there's a lot of items. They're all pretty nice, including some new Puffle Hats, and a ton of other stuff, like the Pixel Shades, Retro Joystick, and Balloon Sword. Some of them are a bit weird (Pork Pie Hat), and there's some strange recolor choices, like the Twinkle Twinkle Hat, which is a recolor of The Tree Topper from the Holiday Parties... Yeeeah. There's also the new backgrounds for Rookie and the Penguin Band, and the Daily Spinner items (grrr.....).
HOWEVER - there is one huge flaw with the items this time. Not the items themselves, no, the prices. To get EVERY item at The Fair, non-members will need to get 10,600 tickets. To get every new member item, members will need to get 25,050 tickets. Add to that the 17,800 tickets you'll need to purchase all the returning items. Puffle Hats cost 4000 tickets a piece. Assuming you need EVERY item and only want each Puffle Hat once, you'll need a whopping 53,450 tickets. And Club Penguin does NOTHING about this. The only new ways to earn tickets are the Daily Spin and the new fair rides, and you only earn garbage from those. Games where you can earn lots of tickets force you to play a while just to accumulate over 500. Kids are in school, likely with mountains of homework to do when they get home! They don't have time to be on Club Penguin constantly earning 53,450 tickets for all these prizes, especially with how HARD it is to earn these tickets!
Score: 3/5
Music
If there's one good thing about this party, it's definitely the music. Club Penguin composed some AMAZING new songs for this party - although the returning songs feel out of place. Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal for a pirate game? Err...
Score: 4/5
Non-Member Friendliness
This party isn't even friendly to members but whatever... Non-members can't get most of the items, but if they get a Silver Ticket on the Daily Spin, they can ride one of the rides. I think non-members were lucky that they didn't have to get all of the prizes... but that's just me.
Score: 3/5
Final Thoughts
People complained about how similar The Fair 2012 was to the previous parties - but it was way better than this version. Bring back the old Fair, Club Penguin!
Final Score: 3/5

Prehistoric Party 2014 Review

Hey guys! Chill here once again. Sick of me yet? :D Haha, just kidding. Anyway, today I'm going to review the Prehistoric Party. The first ever Prehistoric Party in 2013 was pretty horrible, so how does the 2014 one hold up? Will it be fantastic, or will it just leave a bad taste of rotten eggs in your mouth? Let's check it out!
 Features
Dino Puffles are so COOL - but unfortunately the quest for them isn't. It could be worse actually. I liked transforming into dinos too, and I'm glad they freshened it up by adding new colors and even new dino species, instead of recycling the same old ones from last year. Although for some reason, roaring doesn't affect the environment anymore. Dinos also throw snowballs this year instead of losing their lunch on passerby penguins. I'm indifferent to that change.
Score: 4/5
Decorations
The decorations are mostly the same as last year, with a few differences. While some rooms such as the Tree Place got a few new additions, rooms like the Stony Town and Dino Nests looked like prehistoric CP had a Construction Party. Either way, the decorations are pretty nice.
Score: 5/5
Items
The items are alright this time around, although some of them are a bit weird looking, like the Prehistoric Beta Hat, or the Dino Horns. Although, I'll never understand why they added a Stone Hair Dryer.
Score: 3/5
Music
The music is nice. At the Prehistoric Party 2013, the music was one of the ONLY good things about that party, and this party brings back those songs, along with a few new tracks, like the Salon. I really have nothing to complain about here.
Score: 5/5
Non-Member Friendliness
Non-members can, for once, collect every item, and visit every room. However, they can't adopt any Dino Puffles, which was the main purpose of this party.
Score: 3/5
Final Thoughts
This version of the Prehistoric Party was way better than its predecessor. I'm glad Club Penguin got it right and was able to start off the year on the right foot.
Final Score: 4/5

HOWEVER: I do have a bone to pick with this party. (haha get it) But I won't talk about that in this post. Keep an eye out for my next post where I talk about this, Is Club Penguin Rewriting Its Own History?. See you then! In the meantime, leave a comment below about what you thought of this party.

These Are the References You're Looking For

Hey guys! Chill here, yet again. So, everyone probably knows about the Disney takeovers on Club Penguin. But did you know that there's more than a franchise or two hiding around Club Penguin? Let's take a look at the obvious, and some of the not so obvious.
  • Star Wars - While not exactly Disney at the time, the first reference of a "Disney" property was way back in 2008, believe it or not, during Quest for the Golden Puffle. Near the end of the play Yukon says "These weren't the puffles we were looking for", a reference to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, where Obi-Wan Kenobi says "These aren't the droids you're looking for". Interestingly, over 5 years later, the Star Wars Takeover was also based on A New Hope.
  • Cinderella - During the Medieval Party 2012, at the Town you could see a pumpkin in the bottom left corner shaped like a carriage. In the Cinderella movie, the Fairy Godmother transforms a pumpkin into a carriage shaped almost exactly like the one in Club Penguin.
  • Marvel - June 2012 brought Takeovers to Club Penguin, the first one being the Marvel Superhero Takeover, which returned in April 2013. This doesn't really need any more explanation than that.
  • Shake It Up! - The Music Jam was fused with this Disney Channel show in July 2012, creating the Make Your Mark: Ultimate Jam as a tie-in with a contest the show was running at the time. While not exactly a full-fledged takeover, a few items referenced the show and Rocky and CeCe the show's main characters came for a guest mascot appearance, being the first to do so.
  • The Haunted Mansion - Gariwald's mansion from the Halloween Party 2012 was based off of this lovable attraction, the Haunted Mansion. When you're outside the attraction at the actual parks, you might hear a tune which Gariwald's mansion clearly drew inspiration from.
  •  Monsters University - Just like Marvel, Monsters University had its own takeover in June 2014. Enough said.
  • Mickey Mouse/Disney Channel - At the aforementioned Monsters University Takeover, ROR's house had a reference hidden in the dance floor. The three circles are obviously the iconic Mickey Mouse head, but when reversed, they also match the Disney Channel logo.

  •  Toy Story - At the Monsters University Takeover during the Scare Games, one of the obstacles is an army man that parachutes from the ceiling, the same army man seen in the Toy Story trilogy.

  •  Teen Beach Movie - Like Shake It Up, the Music Jam was fused with this Disney Channel movie in August 2013 to create the Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam. Although not technically a takeover, you could call it one, with rooms, items, and music based off the movie. Brady and McKenzie, the main characters from the movie, also visited.
  • The Muppets - The most recent takeover, based off of The Muppets (more specifically their latest movie, Muppets Most Wanted) was the Muppets World Tour. Kermit the Frog also made a mascot gust appearance, like Rocky, CeCe, Brady, and McKenzie before him.
So there you have it! Every Disney reference in Club Penguin that I know of so far. Are you surprised there were so many? Leave a comment below.

BREAKING NEWS!!! Cinco De Mayo Party!

OH MY GOSH GUYS I have the biggest news ever! Well maybe not ever but you know... Anyway, Chill here.

So I managed to get to talk with Spike Hike himself on Twitter and he showed me several sneak peeks of an event in May. He said I could post about it on my blog but not actually show the pictures... sorry guys. :/

Anyway, this event is: The Fiesta. Yup, the Winter Fiesta is returning for Cinco De Mayo. It'll be a minor thing at the Town, Plaza, Snow Forts, Dock, and Beach.

Free items include a sombrero, poncho, maracas, and a few others I can't remember. No mascots though.

What do you think? Are you excited for the revival of the Fiesta?

Tell me what you think in the comments below!
